A Little Love

This pic was taken about a month ago, but I just rediscovered it. When I had gone to get Adara from her crib she was there hugging her baby beluga. I thought it was so sweet I tried to get her to reproduce her loving gesture for the camera.

Now, of course, she already seems so far beyond that. She has taken her first couple of steps. But she really hasn't taken more than two at a time. She has a great time climbing around now, and playing with big brother. He's most often the one who imitates her, in truth. This morning she took a tumble from a chair- right onto her face. After which, she cried of course. And that delicate manouever was carefully carried out right after by big brother, who then let out a fake cry and wanted some (real) comfort, too. (It becomes a little tricky, though, to reprimand him for imitating things she does, because "she's only a baby". So I do my best to navigate that terrain diplomatically and conscientiously.)

Interview with a One Year Old Queen

iMag: Adara, we really appreciate you taking time out of your busy schedule to sit down with us. We know you have other things vying for your attention, so we'll try to keep it brief. So, Adara, today you turned the big One- how do you feel?

Adara: Great! It's feels really great to be able to celebrate at home with my family and, really, just to spend some good, quality time.

iMag: Yes, we know there's not quite enough of that these days. Sounds good. How do you feel looking back on the past year?

Adara: Well, I'd definitely say I've grown. I feel more mature, that I've learned so much about life, and love and relationships in the past year. Sometimes it's mind-boggling. And I've definitely gotten a taste for many new things that I'd never experienced before.

iMag: Well, that's for sure! Great, great. What about your plans for the future? What do you think this upcoming year will bring for you?

Adara: Well, I definitely feel it's best to live in the moment as much as possible. I just want to keep exploring my world, and growing; spending time with my family, and learning as much about the world as I possibly can.

iMag: Well, that sounds great. Those could be goals we all could benefit from. I like your approach. Any last words for your fans, and the general public?

Adara: Just really to keep your head up. Keep trying your best, and learning as much as you can. Try to adapt to a rhythm that works for you. And if you fail don't be discouraged, "try, try again" as they say. And don't forget to enjoy the simple things, and the people you love!

iMag: Very thoughtful answer, Adara. We really appreciate your time with us today. Oh, and Happy Birthday!

Adara: Thank you. I'm glad to talk anytime!

(Waving 'hi' to her loyal fans)
